2019 GSK IMPACT Awards for Greater Philadelphia

Opportunity Type:
Brief Description:

2019 GSK IMPACT Awards for Greater Philadelphia

The GSK IMPACT Awards is an annual recognition program through which we honor up to ten outstanding nonprofit organizations in each region for their efforts to improve lives and contribute to a healthier community. Every winning organization is recognized with a GSK IMPACT Award and $40,000 each. GSK partners with The Philadelphia Foundation (TPF)  in the administration of these awards.

Challenge: Much of what influences our health happens outside the doctor’s office – in our communities. Factors such as access to healthy foods and recreational spaces undeniably contribute to our health. Where we are born, raised, live, and work matters to our health; yet too many individuals are living in communities that are hazardous to their health.

Solution: The more we understand the connection between our health and our community, the more we can improve it. At GSK, we are guided by our mission of helping people do more, feel better, and live longer. To achieve this mission, we must go beyond discovering, developing, and delivering new medicines, vaccines, and healthcare products. We must address health challenges where they often start – in our communities.

Process: GSK and Administrative staff review applications and select no more than 20 finalists (spring). Administrative staff conduct site visits and a panel comprised of local and national community health experts and GSK representatives evaluate the applications and select up to ten winners (summer). The winners are then presented with their GSK IMPACT Award and $40,000 each at a ceremony at the GSK campus in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Registration must be completed by midnight on Thursday, March 28, 2019.  All interested applicants must register online by this date. If your registration is approved, you will be given access to submit the application.
