The impact of gun violence on Philadelphia’s commercial corridors illustrates a daunting reality: fears for personal safety, stifled business growth, and negative perceptions of the city. As a result, local businesses are at a stifling disadvantage compared to those in the surrounding communities of our region.

Safety concerns force many to close early, equating to thousands of dollars of lost revenue on a weekly basis. Investors are less likely to back businesses in areas with high crime. Patrons will not frequent corridors where they do not feel safe. These disadvantages negatively impact the viability of Philadelphia’s business ? — and illustrate why our regional business community must come together to confront this pervasive issue.

Join the Chamber for a conversation with local leaders on the consequences of gun crime on our region’s inclusive recovery and how it affects the vitality, competitiveness, and growth of businesses throughout Philadelphia.
