ADVANCE is a series of fireside chat sessions with local leaders and community members followed by conversation prompts and exercises for attendees that can result in policies and new ideas.

On June 9th, Generocity will host an ADVANCE to empower Philadelphians to take action on Housing, Public Safety, Workforce Development, and Education, and propose solutions and policies for the Mayoral candidates to consider and respond to. During this event, a panel of community leaders will discuss several issues facing the city - Housing, Public Safety, Education, and Workforce Development. At the conclusion of the panel community members/attendees will break out into fireside chats around those certain issues and share their experiences, thoughts, and solutions through discussions, texting, and/or post-its.

This event will result in solutions and ideas that will inform our Generocity's coverage of these issues throughout the rest of the year, educate participants on how to get involved and take action, and provide an agenda for candidates to consider as they go into the general election and their first 100 days and first year in office.

Fireside chats to be moderated by:

  • Michael O'Bryan | Founder, Humanature
  • Maurice Baynard | Vice President of the Community Learning and Chief Diversity Officer at the Academy of Natural Sciences, Drexel University.
  • Dionicia Roberson | Associate Editor of Community Narratives, Resolve Philly
  • Monique Curry-Mims | Founder, Civic Capital & Publisher, Generocity
