The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls (CCFWG) will host its first annual Champions of Change Breakfast on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at The Farmhouse Bistro at People’s Light in Malvern, PA. The event will honor Patricia Miller, President of Nobel Learning Communities, for her longstanding dedication to the advancement of women in the workplace. Law firm Fox Rothschild will also be honored for its firm-wide commitment to mentorship and career development for female attorneys.
Patricia Miller of Nobel Learning Communities will receive CCFWG’s first annual Gladys Black Woman of Distinction Award, named in memory of CCFWG’s late friend and committed Board member Gladys Black. As a business leader and supporter of women and girls in Chester County, Gladys left a lasting impact on our community. CCFWG honors Patty for her same commitment to empowering women in Chester County. In her role at Nobel, Patty has tirelessly advocated for female employees and serves as a mentor to many of them. She has worked for over 35 years with the Forum for Executive Women, helping to promote women to boards and leadership positions throughout the business world. She brings that same passion to her work at Nobel and has developed an impressive team of women leaders. Patty has been recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of the top 30 Women of Distinction in the region, and serves as a board member for Pathways PA, a non-profit focused on helping women achieve economic independence. She is also a member of the Membership Committee of the Forum for Executive Women.
As an advocate for its female employees, Fox Rothschild encourages women to become equity partners and hold leadership roles. Its Women’s Initiative brings in female leaders to share tips on how to best advocate for oneself during review and compensation processes. Female employees pursuing partnership tracks are paired with mentors to guide them in the process.
To assist with work-life balance, Fox Rothschild provides all employees with options for flexible hours, the ability to work remotely, and a reduced schedule for those returning from a leave of absence. As a further testament to its support of women, a significant percentage of leadership roles, including the firm’s executive committee, are held by women. Fox Rothschild has also regularly participated in the OnRamp Fellowship, a program that matches firms to women returning to work after being away for at least three years.
