Cooperatives, often called co-ops, are enterprises created and managed by people who come together to meet a common need. Members make decisions together and share the benefits based on what they want as a community. How does this approach to sharing wealth, ownership, and decision-making help local communities and workers? And what can we learn from co-ops for building an equitable and just economy?

Join WOMEN'S WAY on July 31st at 4:00 PM EST for their next virtual Closing the Gender Wealth Gap Forum: Exploring Models of Shared Wealth to take a closer look at cooperatives and better understand their role in closing the gender wealth gap and fostering economic justice.

The moderator for the event will be Mo Manklang, Policy Director for the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives. Joining the conversation are panelists:

  • Terrell Cannon, MHS; Director of Training, Home Care Associates
  • Ana Martina; Co-Founder and Worker-Owner Member, Colmenar Cooperative Consulting
  • Corey Reidy; Co-op Developer, Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance
