While there are more than 61 million adults with disabilities in the United States, only 21.3% of people with disabilities are employed – a stark contrast to the 65.4% of people without disabilities who are employed. Within the philanthropic sector, CHANGE Philanthropy’s 2022 Diversity Among Philanthropic Professionals Report found that people with disabilities working in philanthropy increased from 6.3% in 2018 to 23.1% in 2022.
To encourage this growth, we must create a culture of inclusiveness and access in our workplaces. How can philanthropy make recruiting, onboarding, and retention practices inviting and accessible for disabled candidates?
This webinar will cover topics including:
- The importance of modifying the hiring process based on candidates’ access needs.
- Examples of how to create an inclusive job listing for candidates with disabilities.
- The importance of disability representation in interview boards and hiring committees.
