Repercussions from the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine are reverberating around the world. As the situation continues to deteriorate at an alarming scale with a speed of displacement not seen since the Second World War, donors are less sure how or even where to send support.
Join SSIR's expert panelists from Oxfam America, CARE USA, the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, and Schwab Charitable who will be addressing many key questions, including:
- What are the most unexpected needs or challenges on the ground in Ukraine today? How have needs evolved since the start of the crisis?
- How is the conflict in Ukraine contributing to both a deeply alarming threat to global food security and an international refugee crisis?
- What are the best practices for donors as they formulate their responses to support relief needs in Ukraine? Where can philanthropic support make the most impact right now?
- How are donors actively using their donor-advised funds to support those impacted by the crisis?
- How can donors provide long-term support in a humanitarian crisis, particularly as the situation evolves and after the news cameras leave the region?
In this complimentary SSIR Live! session, hear from several leading nonprofits who are on the ground in Ukraine and the Baltic states. The leaders from these organizations will offer guidance to donors about ways to give effectively when overwhelming need intersects with underwhelming funding.
