Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale will be speaking on Fixing Pennsylvania’s Broken Child-Welfare SystemHe will be reporting on the results of the “State of the Child” report recently published by his office, that contains seven report observations, 17 recommendations for improvement and highlights challenges that severely impact caseworkers’ ability to do their jobs effectively. Following his address, DePasquale will be joined by local experts for an open discussion including:

  • Happi Grillon, MSW, Executive Director of CASA Philadelphia(moderator)
  • Cynthia Figueroa, Commissioner of the Philadelphia Department of Human Services (DHS)
  • Dawn Holden Woods, Managing Director of Children and Family Services for PHMC, and Chief Executive Officer of Turning Points for Children
