Join the Greater Philadelphia Food Funders at Lankenau Medical Center to learn how a health system is innovatively supporting good health with good nutrition. In addition to hearing about Lankenau's nutrition education, seeing a cooking demonstration and visiting their onsite farmer’s market, we will tour the Deaver Wellness Farm, their partnership with Greener Partners. The farm includes three dozen gardens, a greenhouse, composting area, various agricultural stations for their educational programs, and a large pavilion. Lankenau is one of only a handful of hospital systems that has a year-round organic garden onsite and they have received national recognition - including former First Lady Michelle Obama – for their innovative work to integrate all that the garden offers into to their healthcare.
As we will be walking outside, please wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
