This fall, the Chester County Community Foundation invites nonprofit board and staff members “Back to School” for Food For Thought: Board Trustee Edition. The program, formerly held in person and known as the Board Trustee Institute, will take place weekly on Zoom, Tuesdays at 4:00 pm from September 15th – October 22nd.
Developing an effective board is essential for the success of any nonprofit organization. It is vital to cultivate board members’ understanding of all aspects of nonprofit leadership. By doing this, board members can direct their nonprofit to achieve their mission. Food for Thought: Board Trustee Edition is designed for nonprofit board members and will explore a variety of topics geared towards helping nonprofits grow and thrive during these troubling times.
Sessions will be every Tuesday at 4:00pm and cover the following topics:
- Sept.15: “Some Novel Advice: Recalibrating & Recovery” led by Karen Simmons and Michael DeHaven CPA
- Sept. 22: “Corporate and Foundation Funding: Taking the Temperature as We Look Ahead” led by Beth Harper Briglia CPA CAP and Chris Saello of United Way Chesco
- Sept. 29: “Individual Donor Fundraising: Lean into the Trends” led by Connie Carter, Krys Sipple, and Corrine Sylvia
- Oct. 6: “Making Your Virtual Event Special” led by Beth Krallis and Jamison Ludgate
- Oct. 13: “Financial Leadership in the Face of Impossible Choices” led by Bob Ferguson and Kathy Wileczek CPA
- Oct.20: “Ask an Attorney: Avoiding Legal Pitfalls” led by L. Peter Temple, Esq., Donald B. Lynn, Esq., and Emily Temple Able, Esq.
- Oct.27: “Strategy, Change, and Improved NPO Achievement” led by Pamela Leland, Ph.D., and Sonia Stamm
