Join Grantmakers in the Arts, Art.Coop and East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative on December 2nd, 11:30am-12:30pmPST/2:30-3:30pm EST for the next in the GIA Solidarity Economy Discussion Series.

This will be a discussion of how arts & culture grantmaking can engage in systems-change work that addresses root causes rather than symptoms of inequity. Grantmakers can play a role in the transformation of the sector by following the lead of BIPOC creatives who are innovating models for self-determination and community wealth. Join us for these funder briefings about opportunities to enact new approaches to grantmaking and investing that shift control to communities.

The December 2nd sesssion will feature East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative’s work as an example of arts & culture solidarity economy projects to make tangible the principles laid out in the report, Solidarity Not Charity: Arts & Culture Grantmaking in the Solidarity Economy by Natalia Linares & Caroline Woolard. East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative supports BIPOC and allied communities to cooperatively organize, finance, purchase and steward mixed-use and residential property in the East Bay.
