Join GCIR for a highlight of clips and discussion of Episode 4 of the immediately acclaimed Netflix docuseries Immigration Nation with filmmakers Shaul Schwarz and Christina Clusiau and Saket Soni and Cynthia Hernandez of Resilience Force.

Immigration Nation is a six-part series that the New York Times calls a "rare look inside Trump's immigration crackdown (official trailer here).” The filmmakers embedded with immigration agents, letting viewers peer into the secretive agencies waging the war on immigrants.

Episode 4 focuses on the immigrant workers who went to Panama City to help rebuild after Hurricane Michael in 2018. Conservative residents admit they need these workers to recover from the damage. They are essential. The episode shows resilience workers persevering to rebuild America in the face of a weaponized immigration force that keeps workers afraid of reporting wage theft and many other injustices. In an America facing COVID-19 and climate threat, immigrants are essential. ICE is not.

Following a special showing of clips from Episode 4, join us for a discussion on how issues of migration, climate change, and labor intersect in this episode, and the power of film to shift narrative and culture.
