In partnership with the Community Foundations of CanadaPhilanthropic Foundations CanadaCharles Stewart Mott Foundation, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States, the Council on Foundations is planning a series of 60-minute discussions to bring our communities together in response to the devastating war that has been raging in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. The first discussion will take place on October 20th, from 2:00-3:00pm ET.

The war in Ukraine is far from over, and the goal of this series is to provide you with insights and resources to consider your responses from both short- and long-term perspectives. The inaugural discussion will feature speakers who will cover current, near-term, and longer-term needs, including of the communities impacted in our own countries, that philanthropy can address in support of Ukraine and Ukrainians.

You will have the opportunity to co-create the series through a brief survey at the end of the inaugural session by sharing your thoughts on what we can do for you around your efforts related to Ukraine. Future speakers joining the subsequent monthly meetings will represent a variety of ecosystem stakeholders, including U.S. and Canadian government representatives, representatives of international organizations, private funders already involved in response to the war, and local Ukrainian stakeholders. Topics discussed will focus on the issues of interest to you.
