Join ECFC and the William Penn Foundation for a funders discussion on positive racial identity, why it is vitally important to young Black children's healthy growth and development, and how it can inform funder thinking around equity in early childhood education.

ECFC member, Kellie Brown, Senior Program Officer at the William Penn Foundation, will join us with guests from the Positive Racial Identity in Early Development (P.R.I.D.E.) Program at the University of Pittsburgh, and community partners from First Up and Trying Together to discuss the P.R.I.D.E. model for fostering positive racial identity in Black children, aged 3 to 8, in the city of Pittsburgh through a blend of interactive engagement of educators, parents and community; and the William Penn Foundation's efforts to expand P.R.I.D.E. to Philadelphia.

Joining uthe conversation:

  • First Up: Carol Austin, Executive Director; Jillian Best-Adler, Director of Equity Initiatives; and Lisa Browne, Senior Early Learning Specialist of Equity Initiatives.
