Organizations rooted in communities of color have been deeply engaged in redistricting processes in states across the country. Most states have completed their state level maps and there is litigation challenging some of them for violations of the Voting Rights Act, state laws, and the U.S. Constitution. One case has already been taken up by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Join us for this funder briefing to hear from state and national groups about their work and how Asian American, Black, Latinx, and Native American communities have fared so far in this redistricting cycle - in congressional, state legislative and even local maps.
As we move into the litigation phase of the redistricting process, a new fund to support community-centered redistricting litigation efforts has been created. We will share details about the new fund during the briefing.
Note: This briefing is open to philanthropic institutions, including foundations, philanthropy serving organizations, and donor advisors.
