You’ve explored the landscape, unpacked the challenges, and seen what’s possible—now what?
In this final session, we’ll shift from theory to practice. Through hands-on activities, real-world examples, and peer exchange, participants will begin to identify actionable steps for supporting community-centered media and narrative work in their own portfolios. We’ll highlight a range of funding models—from long-term infrastructure investments to creative, community-driven pilots—and reflect on how to take first (or next) steps with humility, flexibility, and purpose.
Expect:
- Inspiring examples of what’s working—from hyperlocal radio to civic media training, youth media to archiving projects.
- Practical tools for starting small, gathering feedback, and staying responsive to community needs.
- Space to reflect on your own role and opportunities as a funder—no matter your issue area.
- Guidance on how to continue learning, connect with peers, and evolve your strategy over time.
This session is about turning values into action—and building the relationships, practices, and accountability needed to support media ecosystems that reflect and sustain community power.
