The first-ever Social Determinants of Health Conference in Philadelphia will strive to remove barriers to good health by convening key stakeholders to share experiences on programs, policies and strategies aimed at reducing health inequities.
Sample topics of discussion include:
• Removing barriers preventing communities from adopting healthy living behaviors
• Improving access to quality and affordable healthcare for all
• Driving the elimination of food deserts
• Increasing access to safe environments for physical activity

As part of the conference, Social Determinants of Health Conference Accelerator Grants will be awarded. Grants up to $60,000 ($30,000 for first place, $20,000 for second place and $10,000 for third place) are available for innovation that improves the health of the Philadelphia community. Finalists will present their projects to a panel of judges at the SDOH conference on September 24th. Philadelphia's first place concept will also have the opportunity to participate in a national Accelerator, with the opportunity to receive up to another $30,000 in grant funding.
