Join The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Philadelphia research and policy initiative (PRPI) and the Committee of Seventy (70) for a virtual panel discussion among national experts and practitioners exploring the past, present, and future of local government performance management.
It’s been 20 years since CitiStat revolutionized data-driven performance management to make local government more efficient and effective. While many cities have established long-term, data-driven approaches spanning mayoral administrations, Philadelphia’s use of data and performance management strategies has been more diffuse. How could renewed attention to performance management help Philadelphia’s elected and operational leaders address our most pressing challenges?
Through a series of virtual convenings over the coming months, Pew's PRPI and 70 will explore ways data-driven approaches can help local leaders address problems and deliver services in Philadelphia more effectively.
This first convening features a panel discussion among the following national experts and practitioners exploring the past, present, and future of local government performance management:
- Beth Blauer, Associate Vice Provost for Public Sector Innovation, Johns Hopkins University
- Rochelle Haynes, Managing Director, What Works Cities
- Dan Hymowitz, Director, Mayor’s Office of Performance and Innovation, City of Baltimore
- Moderator: Anjali Chainani, Founder and Principal, Anavi Strategies
