Tuesday, January 8, 2019

Diana Doherty, Joanne KlineIn the Spring of 2019, Joanne Kline, the founding Executive Director of the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn, will retire from this important role after five years.  “Joanne established the Foundation’s operational structure and grantmaking program, and she led us through a tremendous period of growth,” notes Kathleen Fitzgerald, Board President. “The VNA Foundation has greatly benefited from Joanne’s leadership.”

Succeeding Joanne in the Executive Director role will be Diana Loukedis Doherty, who brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the position. Diana is known to many of the local nonprofit and community groups for her philanthropic management and consulting work. Diana served on the Board of the VNA Foundation from 2016-2018 and strongly believes in continuing the Foundation’s crucial mission to build healthy communities in North Penn for generations to come. Having recently managed the Seybert Foundation, Diana currently serves on the Board of Directors of Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia and is the manager of BLBB Charitable. As Fitzgerald remarks, “The Board is delighted that Diana has agreed to serve as our next Executive Director, and we know that she and Joanne will work effectively together to ensure a smooth transition into this exciting new chapter.”  In fact, Joanne has agreed to assist the Foundation in a consulting role in the months to come, working with Diana to serve the North Penn region with the same mission, dedication, and partnership the community has come to know.

In addition to this transition in leadership, another change is underway at the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn, as the Foundation announces a change in its status from a public charity to a private foundation in 2019.  Notes Fitzgerald, “This change in the Foundation’s legal status will be seamless to our grantees, yet it marks a significant milestone in our journey as we further the legacy of the North Penn Visiting Nurse Association.” As a private foundation, the VNA Foundation will continue to make grants to nonprofit organizations serving the geographic area comprising North Penn, Souderton Area, Wissahickon and Worcester School Districts.
