Doylestown, PA (December 26, 2018) – More than $165,000 in grant funding has been awarded by Foundations Community Partnership's (FCP) Board of Directors to benefit 21 Bucks County non-profit organizations and the families they support. The grant program is an integral part of Foundations’ mission to improve the lives of underserved youth and their families in Bucks County. The grants included ten Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG), eight Capital Improvement Grants and three Technical Assistance grants.
BIIG grants support organizations that are developing innovative ideas to improve the quality of life for children, youth, and families in Bucks County. Capital Improvement Grants support non-profit organizations’ capital campaigns, including structural improvements to a facility (bricks & mortar, such as new buildings or addition to existing buildings), or extensive renovation or addition of durable equipment to an existing structure. Technical Assistance grants are for specific work plans developed with a local non-profit technical assistance organization.

Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG) were awarded to the following 10 organizations and programs:
- Bucks County Children’s Museum will use the grant to increase their educational programming capacity and open up the museum to many new participants, including special needs children.
- Family Service Association of Bucks County (FSA) will use the grant to benefit their group for children and teens impacted by substance use disorders. FSA will provide support groups for children/teens of parents attending the opoid clinic.
- The Community Conservatory of Music’s Kindred Arts Program will reach out to low-income children and teens with musical performances.
- Potential Inc. will use the grant to increase access to quality autism treatment and provide registered behavior technician (RBT) training. The grant will allow program growth for children with autism without sacrificing quality of service.
- YWCA will use the grant for the Empowering Girls from Adversaries to Allies program, which targets children and adolescent girls who are at risk of bullying.
- Transformation Yoga Project will use the grant for a long-term collaboration with Libertae, Inc., providing mindfulness classes to Libertae staff, clients, and graduates to improve overall well being and resilience.
- Maternity Care Coalition will use the grant to support their Nurturing Parenting Program, which provides families with empirically-based parent nurturing training to strengthen their parenting skills.
- YMCA of Bucks County’s Back to You (B2U) program offers addiction recovery services to help adolescents and young adults recover from substance abuse by providing support for a healthy lifestyle.
- The Links, Inc. Bucks County Youth Council will use the grant to support their Teen Leadership Institute, an annual leadership conference for over 300 teens, especially those in low income areas.
- One House at a Time’s Beds for Kids program will use the grant to increase the number of beds provided to needy children by adding two more human service organizations.
Eight organizations received Capital Grants:
- Advocates for Homeless and Those in Need will use the grant to purchase a 15-passenger transit van to serve the homeless and low-income families in Bucks County,
- Bucks County Association for the Blind will use the grant to support access to vision services for the blind and visually impaired.
- Bucks County Housing Group will use the grant to upgrade their 15-year old outdated phone system to allow data communication between case managers and the office.
- Comprehensive Learning Center will use the grant to provide a training kitchen learning lab for young adults and adults with autism who attend the program.
- Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County will use the grant to provide 4 computer tablets for use in their home repair program to allow real-time data and communication with project leaders.
- Libertae, Inc. will use the grant to upgrade the security system at their facility, which will improve the safety for residents, clients, children and staff.
- Pearl S. Buck International will use the grant towards its capital campaign to renovate existing space into a conference and events center.
- St. Paul’s Preschool Center will use the grant to upgrade the school’s security system to improve safety for children and teachers.
Three organizations were awarded Technical Assistance Grants:
- The National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) will use the grant to work with the Catalyst Center for Nonprofit Management in NAMI’s strategic planning as well as defining the roles of the board and executive director.
- Friends MATTer was awarded a Technical Assistance grant to educate, drive awareness, and support the network of those afflicted with substance use disorder to deter relapse.
- Roxy Therapy Dogs was awarded a Technical Assistance Grant to develop specialized training/certifications to therapy dog teams, specific to children’s needs.
Foundations Community Partnership is a philanthropic grant-making foundation supporting the behavioral health and human service needs of children and young adults in Bucks County.
