Doylestown, PA (December 27, 2023) – During the season of giving, Foundations Community Partnership’s (FCP) Board of Directors awarded $166,350 in grants to 21 non-profit organizations serving Bucks County, including 13 Bucks Innovation and Improvement Grants (BIIG), seven Capital Improvement Grants, and one Nonprofit Growth Grant.
BIIGs recognize innovative programs and ideas to improve the lives of children, young adults, and families, while Capital Improvement Grants support structural improvements to facilities, durable equipment, and technology upgrades.
“We appreciate the opportunity to support the important work these nonprofits do in our community,” said Abigail Halloran, Chair of FCP’s Board of Directors. “Collectively, these organizations will help 14,155 Bucks County residents by expanding services and infrastructure.”
BIIGs totaling $108,000 were awarded to the following non-profit organizations:
- Bethany Christian Services of the Greater Delaware Valley: Grant will be used to help resettle refugees and immigrants, who are fleeing violence and persecution, in Bucks County.
- Bucks-Mont Collaborative: Grant will be used to continue support of its Racial Equity Learning Community, which increases organizations’ capacity to apply learning and racial equity tools to their own racial equity goals.
- Family Service Association of Bucks County: Grant will be used to decrease the waitlist and provide therapy for children in crisis through Project Access.
- Hammerheads Sled Hockey Association: Grant will be used to support the junior team’s trip to the London Blizzard Sled Hockey Tournament in Ontario, Canada.
- James A. Michener Art Museum: Grant will be used to expand awareness and access of its Counselor in Training program to ensure that students are welcomed by counselors who reflect all forms of diversity that exist in Bucks County.
- Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA): Grant will be used to train healthcare professionals in Bucks County to help identify sexual and interpersonal violence victims.
- Operation Pathways: Grant will be used to reduce mental and emotional stress to individuals and families who will need to be temporarily relocated during an infrastructure rehab of Foxwood Manor.
- Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Academy: Grant will be used to improve behavioral and social skills for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Minis on the Move, an unmounted equine assisted learning pilot program.
- Snipes Farm & Education Center: Grant will be used to expand existing nutrition classes to Morrisville School District middle school students and expand classes atValley Day School.
- The Pennsbury Society: Grant will be used to underwrite Title 1 visits of Bucks County schools to attended programs at the Pennsbury Manor Historic Site.
- Travis Manion Foundation: Grant will be used to collaborate with Joe Hand Boxing Gym in Feasterville to both incorporate its “Character Does Matter” youth development program into Joe Hand’s youth boxing classes and recruit new veteran mentors through free boxing classes for local disabled veterans.
- Valley Youth House Committee: Grant will be used to support numerous activities to address behavioral health and wellness needs for transition-age youth in the agency’s continuum of Bucks County services.
Capital Improvement Grants totaling $53,350 were awarded to the following non-profit organizations:
- Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic: Grant will be used to complete the addition of a new wing and acquisition of advanced medical equipment to meet growing demands.
- Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve: Grant will be used to purchase a dedicated golf cart to increase physical access to the Preserve’s trails for visitors with mobility challenges, including their families and caregivers.
- Friends of Peace Valley Nature Center: Grant will be used to install a water bottle filling station and ADA compliant fountain to enhance accessibility and promote environmental awareness.
- Keystone Opportunity Center: Grant will be used to complete a window replacement project at its Sellersville property.
- Refuge Child Care Academy: Grant will be used to replace existing playground equipment with an ADA compliant commercial playground climber and slide.
- The Welcome Project PA: Grant will be used toupgrade building doors to improve fire safety and accessibility.
- Vita Education Services: Grant will be used to set up a computer lab at its Croydon location by purchasing laptops and other portable equipment.
A $5,000 Nonprofit Growth Grant was also awarded to Vita Education Services to support the organization’s search for its next executive director.
