Blue Bell, PA – The Board of Directors of the Genuardi Family Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Marisa Ferst as the organization’s Executive Director and the election of Beth Genuardi Borrelli as the President of the Board. Mrs. Ferst starts her new position on November 5, 2018, while Mrs. Borrelli’s position is effective immediately.
“We are excited that Marisa is joining us,” said Mrs. Borrelli. “Marisa’s experience as a social worker, collaborator, and leader of one of our grantee organizations makes her well positioned to serve as our Executive Director. Her commitment to service, her relationships in the region, and her knowledge of the communities we serve will make our grantmaking more effective.”
Mrs. Ferst has served as the Executive Director of ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth since 2015, where she started as a social worker in 2011. She has served on the Bryn Mawr Hospital Community Health Services Foundation Board Committee and as a member of the Your Way Home Continuum of Care Governance Team. Mrs. Ferst earned dual Master of Social Service and Master of Law and Social Policy degrees from Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Research.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the Genuardi Family Foundation,” said Mrs. Ferst. “The Foundation has an incredible track record of supporting nonprofit organizations that promote the dignity and well-being of individuals and families. I am excited about the future and look forward to upholding the family’s legacy of philanthropy and service.”
Mrs. Borrelli has served on the Board of Directors since 2004 as a representative of the “fourth generation” of the family. She becomes the first non-founding member elected as President of the Board. Mrs. Borrelli assumes the role from Larry Genuardi, who is a founding Board member and has served as the President since 2008. Mr. Genuardi has been elected Vice President and will support Mrs. Ferst and Mrs. Borrelli in their new roles.
“During the past year, our Board has reviewed its grantmaking approach, and we will announce significant changes in November 2018,” said Mrs. Borrelli. “Marisa and I look forward to working together to put those changes in place.”
