On May 30, Impact Finance Center and Commonfund Institute will host a webinar to launch their new national community foundation impact investing landscape scan - A Winding Road: Nine Community Foundations Share Their Journeys. This publication is part of the organization's work with community foundations to build a national impact investing infrastructure.
Nine innovative community foundations were interviewed about their impact investing practices and how they moved from idea to investment. The nine community foundations span the country, from Tahoe Truckee to Topeka to New Hampshire, with endowments of $34 million to $2.9 billion and from five employees to 64. The practices range from screening endowment asset investments, to giving Donor Advised Fund holders impact investing options, to convening community members to harness assets for needs such as housing or place-making. Each journey and set of practices is unique.
The webinar will feature IFC’s Stephanie Gripne and Commonfund Instititute’s George Suttles in conversation with some of the highlighted community foundations. Please join us if you work in a community foundation or care about place-based investing; each interview highlights a unique approach to making impact investing a regular practice.
The publication will be available after the webinar.
