CNJG invites funders and nonprofits to their biennial conference, 2021 Virtual Spring Conference for the Social Sector: The Future of Work and the Role of Philanthropy on May 19 and 20 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm ET.
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted and propelled the future of work in ways we couldn’t have imagined. But even before the pandemic – the automation of jobs and increasing job insecurity, the ongoing need for reskilling and retraining, the need for green jobs, advocacy for just labor practices, and more – has been setting the stage for novel and changing ways of working. This new, accelerated work paradigm is having a profound impact on our nation’s industries, workers and communities – and the implications for grantmakers and their nonprofit partners are extensive, significant and complex. In the face of ever-changing and unprecedented innovation, the social sector must act now to support more equitable, accessible workplaces, address growing skills, opportunity, and educations gaps, and empower workers in a changing job landscape.
