What Can We Expect from the New Poverty, Income and Health Insurance Data, And How Can We Find the Info We Need?

On September 10, the Census Bureau will release national poverty and income data, as well as nationwide and state health insurance data. Other state and local findings will be out on September 26th and October 17th. 

CHN’s annual preview is especially important this year: First, Jared Bernstein will share his incisive predictions about what the data will show (More uninsured after years of better news?  More progress in reducing poverty or stubbornly high numbers?). Second, there are changes both in the Census Bureau’s website and the timing of releases that we will help you navigate. • Deborah Weinstein: Executive Director of the Coalition on Human Needs, provides practical information about how to get and use the information you need (local, state, and national), and shows how to navigate this year’s Census website and timing changes.
