Join FCCP for this year's April 1st Virtual Census Day Program on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 from 3-4:15 PM ET for an engaging and insightful discussion on the future of the census in these tumultuous times. Former Census Bureau Director Robert Santos will sit down for a Virtual Fireside Chat with Van Johnson, the Mayor of Savannah, GA, and the National League of Cities' Second Vice President. Both leaders will be in conversation around what we can, and should, be doing to ensure the critical role of the census in shaping our communities.

In addition to the fireside chat, you'll hear updates to the Census Blueprint and a forthcoming new resource, followed by a State and Regional Funders’ panel. During this session, we’ll discuss essential questions, such as:

  • How are state, regional and local foundations preparing for the census in this current moment, if at all? What larger attacks are you fighting that intersect with the attacks on the Census?
  • How do we get other foundations in the sector to pay attention to the critical funding and advocacy needs around Census?
  • What specific resources do we need to build upon and/or improve the infrastructure do we already have in place? How can we encourage states to establish their state count committees? What will it take to make that happen?

This is a key opportunity for funders and civic leaders to collaborate, share insights, and discuss the steps needed to ensure the provision of a fair and accurate census. Please register today and join this important discussion in light of federal changes that could impact a fair and equitable census.
