As policymakers and civil society upend long-established norms, join with funder colleagues at HEFN’s 2017 Annual Meeting in Detroit, MI, (Nov. 15-16) to strategize about ways to think and work differently to secure more transformational change.


Learn about place-based, solutions-focused work gaining ground for environmental health and justice.

Explore connections between local solutions and national power, grassroots and national organizing, defense and offense, issue work and civic engagement.  

  • Network with other funders and donors interested in health, the environment, and equity.
  • Hear from Detroit-area speakers about local issues and efforts.
  • Build skills in integrating racial and gender equity into grantmaking.
  • Strategize as grantmakers about how to make the most of these disruptive times.


HEFN’s Annual Meeting will begin with two site visits from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Nov. 15, followed by an opening lunch program. The meeting adjourns at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16. Click here for full agenda
