The Independence Public Media Foundation (IPMF) announces grants totaling $485,000 in support of independent filmmakers and film projects in the Philadelphia region.
Led by Philadelphia Foundation and the William Penn Foundation, along with other civic partners, the new Civic Coalition to Save Lives will help catalyze a broad effort to reduce gun deaths annually using strategies that have proven successful in other cities.
Recipients include artists and practitioners working in disciplines such as performance, film,
visual arts, literature, and community-based art forms.
The City of Philadelphia and the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation announced the launch of the Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund, which will implement a community-driven grantmaking process that focuses on geographic areas most impacted by the overdose crisis in Philadelphia.
The new funding will help serve 7,724 Bucks County residents.
