The Richard R. Ruch inaugural scholarship recipient is Bethany Stern, an incoming junior at Penn State Berks, majoring in business management and marketing with an emphasis on finance.
In its seventh round of funding, the Fund awarded $2.1 million to 80 nonprofit organizations with specific needs pertaining to their transitions to recovery.

Administered by The Fund for School District of Philadelphia, the program's goals of promoting literacy and preventing the phenomenon known as “summer slide” have been expanded to include countering the "COVID slide," this year's loss of school instruction time to the pandemic.
The grant is in support of BHF’s 2020-2022 strategic plan priority, "To Lead Positive Community-Driven Change."
