COATESVILLE—As part of his ongoing commitment to the betterment of the Greater Coatesville community and in an effort to help address unmet needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Derrick Morgan, Managing Partner of KNGDM Group and Opportunity Zone investor, has committed an initial $10,000 to Brandywine Health Foundation’s Health and Economic Relief Fund.

“As this crisis began to unfold, I quickly realized that the impact of the pandemic on the effort to build and support business growth in Greater Coatesville would be devastating,” said Morgan. “I felt that as a business member of this community it was important to act decisively to address both business and community economic needs and that Brandywine Health Foundation’s new fund would be just the right vehicle to make that happen.”

As a native of Coatesville, Derrick Morgan is passionate about giving back to the city where he grew up and that supported his gridiron dreams. Following his successful nine-year career in the National Football League with the Tennessee Titans, Morgan returned home to create the KNGDM Group, an organization that partners with investors, developers, and influencers to support economically distressed communities. They focus on transformational real estate development to create empowerment and economic opportunity within the communities.

This donation marks the beginning of a partnership between Brandywine Health Foundation and KNGDM Group and a call to action to other investors that will enable the Fund to expand its scope of service.

“The goal of the Healthcare and Economic Relief Fund is to help our nonprofit partners on the frontlines of serving the community during this health crisis, now, with Derrick Morgan’s contribution, we can continue to meet the urgent needs of our community residents and expand our efforts to also support small businesses and entrepreneurs in the City of Coatesville,” said Vanessa Briggs, president & CEO of the Brandywine Health Foundation. “We are grateful not only for his generosity but for his unique perspective and dedication that will help ensure meeting both the basic needs of our residents and the future viability of small business and Opportunity Zone investments."
