Nonprofit Issues® and the Philadelphia law firm of Montgomery McCracken will present the 29th Annual "This Year in Nonprofit Law" on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the firm's Philadelphia office.
Ellen Hwang, the new Director of the Knight Foundation program in Philadelphia, will be the keynote speaker.
The day will follow its traditional format of plenary and breakout sessions. In the opening plenary, Nonprofit Issues® editor Don Kramer will moderate a panel of firm lawyers who regularly deal with the legal issues of nonprofits as they discuss the top legal issues of the year.
The keynote will follow the morning panel.
After lunch, the concurrent breakout sessions will be:
- Increasing Gender Diversity on Large Nonprofit Boards - Why And How To Do It
- Special Events Fundraising
The second round will feature:
- Cannabis Issues for Nonprofits
- Ethical Issues for Nonprofit Lawyers and Executives
The program will provide 5 hours of continuing legal education credit for Pennsylvania lawyers, including an hour of ethics credit for those attending the ethics session, and 5 hours of CPE for Pennsylvania accountants. Lawyers wishing CLE credit in other states will be given a certificate of attendance for this PACLE-approved program. Credits will be provided at no extra charge.
Participants will receive a new or renewed one-year subscription to Nonprofit Issues®, plus program materials.
