The webinar will focus on the role of and opportunities for philanthropy in the space of shared ownership. We will be joined by the Ford Foundation, Spring Point Partners, and the Kataly Foundation, all supporters of the Kensington Corridor Trust, an innovative model of community ownership and economic development.

Attendees will also hear from Adriana Abizadeh, the Executive Director of the Kensington Corridor Trust. She will explain the model’s inner workings and how it will preserve long-term affordability and leverage entrepreneurial spirit by centering neighborhood governance so that the residents and business owners in Kensington can thrive in place.

About Purpose Foundation
Purpose Foundation supports businesses and communities in building equitable ownership, governance, and financing models. Purpose seeks to accelerate the transition to shared ownership by incubating leaders, reducing legal complexity, and improving access to capital that builds equity and shifts power.

About Kensington Corridor Trust
The Kensington Corridor Trust (KCT) seeks to foster the equitable economic revitalization of a commercial corridor and its surrounding neighborhood through local partnerships, strategic programming, and an innovative approach to moving real estate assets out of the speculative private market. Leveraging patient, flexible capital and a long-term trust vehicle, the KCT intends to de-commodify real estate assets and transition them to neighborhood control. It is a lighthouse example of how communities across the country are leveraging shared ownership models to prevent displacement, spur economic development, and build wealth.
