With the busy fall season already in high gear, we know calendars are filling up, so before the leaves start falling, we wanted to share a preview of a number of programs and learning opportunities we have in the pipeline for Philanthropy Network members this fall.
This menu of upcoming sessions is designed to help you expand your learning on important issues, build connections with your regional peers and partners, and deepen efforts to integrate equity into your grantmaking.
Programming
Our new learning team is working alongside members and other key partners to develop programs around a number of topics that are critical to our region's future. Look for sessions in the next few months on:
- Guaranteed Income
- Older Adults
- Immigrants and Refugees
- Opioids in Philadelphia
- Education
- Nonprofit Capacity Building
- Environmental Justice: State of the work in Philadelphia
Communities of Practice & Affinity Groups
Planning is in the works for a "reboot" of our Corporate Roundtable, Arts & Culture and Education groups. In addition, we are excited to be launching new communities of practice around Immigrants and Refugees and Older Adults, as well as an Asset Funders group in coordination with the national Asset Funders Network.
These groups add to our existing communities of practices operating around Out-of-School Time, Mission-Aligned Investing and Small Funders, and regional groups in Chester County, Delaware County and Montgomery County.
Also coming soon are new identity-based affinity groups for Hispanics in Philanthropy and people of African Ancestry. In addition, we will continue to convene Philanthropy Network member CEOs for monthly calls and quarterly gatherings.
Equity in Grantmaking
We are in the process of developing infrastructure for an institute within Philanthropy Network to advance and deepen learning around integrating equity throughout your grantmaking practice. Individual sessions will include Grantmaking with an Equity Lens and Financial Statements and Equity, and we will once again offer opportunities for members to participate in Equity Cohorts.
Watch our website and weekly newsletter for further details on these programs and initiatives to be announced soon. In the meantime, please reach out to Christine Robinson or Lubna Mian with any questions or feedback.
