(Media, PA) – The Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Dr. L. Joy Gates Black to the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gates Black to the Crozer-Keystone Community Foundation Board,” says Frances Sheehan, president. “Her depth of experience as a strong leader in the field of higher education, her focus on community and her background in organizational leadership and development will be a real asset as our board continues to develop the strategic direction of Delaware County’s newest community foundation.”
Dr. Black is the fourth president of Delaware County Community College since its founding. She is the first woman and the first African American to head the College. A U.S. Air Force veteran and a native of Dayton, TX, Dr. Gates Black is married to Dillet Black. They have four adult children and five grandchildren and currently reside in Media.
