Join your colleagues located or providing funding in Chester County for the next meeting of the Chester County Funders.
During this session we will be joined by Kristina Wahl, President, The Barra Foundation, and Chair of the Nonprofit Repositioning Fund, who will provide an update on the Repositioning Fund, share tales learned over the course of the first year, and offer insights gained by the Fund's staff and governance committee on working with nonprofits on these important issues.
The Nonprofit Repositioning Fund (the "Fund") celebrated its one-year anniversary in October 2016. It is a collaborative funding effort among nine foundations designed to encourage and support formal, long-term collaborations between and among nonprofit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia region, including alliances and back-office consolidations, programmatic joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
The Fund's primary objectives are to:
- Provide funding support for thoughtful exploration and implementation of formal collaborative transactions among nonprofits;
- Routinize the consideration and practice of repositioning activities as a legitimate strategic option for nonprofit leaders, boards and funders; and
- Further develop the Philadelphia region’s capacity to provide wise and experienced technical assistance to nonprofits exploring these collaborative opportunities.
Following this presentation, members of the Chester County Funders group will have the opportunity to share updates on new and evolving community and philanthropy initiatives which will impact their work in the County. Coffee and light breakfast will be provided.
