Please join Philanthropy Network for the next Arts and Culture Funders Roundtable that will help members to explore and gain a shared understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the regional arts and culture community.
Through a November 2016 Strategic Planning Session, the Arts and Culture Funders identified as a core strategic goal to Advance awareness, understanding and practices around diversity, equity, and inclusion within the regional arts and culture funding community. As a first step in this process, group members felt there needed to be a shared understanding/definition of what DEI means within the arts & culture space. This session will help members to find this shared language for DEI work, and will further explore the full range of issues, challenges, and priorities related to DEI within the regional arts & culture sector. The lessons drawn from this session will help lay the groundwork for future conversations about specific grantmaking practices and strategies funders can adopt to advance DEI in the sector.
Helping to lead and facilitate this important conversation will be Philanthropy Network member Denise Brown, Executive Director of the Leeway Foundation, and Chrissie Bonner, a graphic illustrator and Principal of Illustrating Progress.
We encourage both staff and trustees to join in this session, and to have multiple participants from your organization to help bring the important lessons we uncover together back to your organizations.
