The Patricia Kind Family Foundation (PKFF) initiated a new grant cycle specifically for Black-led organizations in Philadelphia. The Foundation made a concerted effort to reach out and to encourage many smaller Black-led non-profit organizations that may not have previously known of PKFF, nor applied in the past, to apply for one-year grants and participate in an expedited application cycle.
After a robust review process, 32 Black-led organizations were selected to receive a total of $760,000 one year, mostly $25,000 general operating support grants. These mostly-new to PKFF organizations are led by a wonderful cohort of innovative and inspiring men and women, addressing educational and racial inequities as well as engaging and empowering members of their communities at the grass-roots level. Their plans are to use the PKFF funding to leverage their ongoing great work in the community and hopefully increase their foot prints both to expand their impact and make a more wide reaching and diverse array of funders aware of their impactful work.
The complete list of the 32 Black-led organizations awarded these PKFF grants, along with a brief description of their work, is available on the PKFF website.
