RWJF will provide $50 million in immediate short-term relief to several national and community organizations to help some of the families and communities feeling the greatest strain under the COVID-19 health emergency.

The Barra Foundation  is immediately dedicating $520,000 in grants to respond to the short-term needs of the region’s nonprofit organizations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with $50k in additional grant funds going to Food Connect to help feed those in urgent need.

The Foundation for Delaware County's COVID-19 Response Fund is helping to provide immediate food aid and other services for county residents hit hard by the coronavirus panedmic.

With this latest round of funding, more than $13 million has been deployed in eight weeks to nearly 400 regional nonprofits addressing critical community needs.

The foundation awarded 34 grants totaling $71,950 through the COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund. Applications for the next round of micro business grants will be accepted July 6-13.

Chester County’s Commissioners have stepped up to help local nonprofits recover from the impact of COVID-19. Through the Restore Chester County Nonprofit Innovation & Resiliency Fund, the Commissioners obtained $3.5 million in federal CARES Act funding. 

The Nonprofit Innovation & Resiliency Fund was administered by the Chester County Community Foundation with input from regional funders, United Ways, and Chester County government departments

In response to the unprecedented and profound impact of COVID-19 on the local economy, available resources, and the ability for its residents to cover basic needs, Union Benevolent Association has awarded $25,000 grants to four community-based nonprofit organizations who are addressing the critical challenges affecting Philadelphia.

Through its new Feeding School Kids initiative, The GIANT Company announced that together with its customers, more than $3.3 million was raised to address the issue of childhood hunger throughout local public school districts in the communities it serves.
