The Philadelphia Cultural Fund announced the largest number of grants in its history -  $2.93 million to 349 arts organizations across the City - putting money into the hands of cultural groups when they need it most to navigate effects of COVID-19.

The new collaborative fund was created to ensure that communities in the Philadelphia area have access to reliable news and information throughout and after the coronavirus pandemic. 

Through this new public-private-community partnership, grants will support grassroots organizations and community groups in Kensington through community-driven, participatory grantmaking process.

The Fund awarded its first round of grants totaling $365,150 to 49 individuals and nonprofit organizations working to increase COVID-19 education, vaccine access, health resources, and outreach activities in their communities.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy (CoP) announced it plans to become an independent nonprofit organization, and has nearly $6 million in new grant commitments that will support innovation, growth, and impact.

IPMF announced $8.9 million in grants for community-centered, BIPOC-led media organizations and projects in the Philadelphia region community that support media-making, narrative shift around violence and community safety, filmmaking, digital equity and journalism.

730 of Philadelphia’s individual artists, small and mid-size nonprofit arts organizations, and small creative enterprises will receive funding.
