Arts foundations and nonprofit leaders are increasingly aware of diversity and equity issues in the nonprofit cultural sector. However, despite this awareness, arts funding is getting less equitable, not more. Just 2 percent of all cultural institutions receive nearly 60 percent of all contributed revenue – up 5 percent over a decade. Funding inequities are systemic and local patterns mirror national ones.
This session will provide a follow up to our June session, Advancing Equitable and Adequate School Funding in PA. Along with updates on the status of the Pennsylvania school funding lawsuit, speakers will provide guidance on outcomes grantmakers should realistically expect when supporting advocacy and organizing work.
GSK, in collaboration with The Philadelphia Foundation and Philanthropy Network, is excited to host this important conversation about Get HYPE Philly!, a collective impact initiative to empower the city’s youth to become leaders for healthy change.
