In recognition of its important 100th year milestone, The Philadelphia Foundation has an exciting impactful year planned. In addition to the new grantmaking programs they have rolled out over the past two years, the foundation will support special initiatives available only this year.

Barra Foundation was a lead funder for a 28 week pilot program by Mural Arts Philadelphia called Color Me Back, a same day work and pay program that pays economically insecure people in Philadelphia $50 cash for three hours of public art making.

United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey announced a $500,000 matching grant, with the goal ofraising $1 million in new funding to target greater engagement of historically undercounted groups in the city and region in the 2020 Census.

This immediate deployment of resources represents more than 25 percent of the foundation's endowment to area nonprofits and immigrant & worker relief funds.

In the new reality spurred by the COVID-19, women are on the frontlines of the pandemic which puts them at increased risk of infection, economic hardship and gender-based violence.

In fourth round of distributions, 101 regional nonprofits receive more than $3.25 million, including ten organizations providing medical care to vulnerable communities.
