This session will be the first of many dialogues to share and brainstorm what efforts are underway and how we can continue to work as a philanthropic community to reduce gun violence in the region. We encourage those attending to come ready to share and engage.

Join us for a panel discussion highlighting the work of Woori Center and Driving PA Forward Coalition, the grassroots efforts and collaborative community work that advocates for legislation to expand drivers licenses for all, regardless of immigration status.

Day 1 Keynote - M. Roger Holland, The Spirtuals Project - Lessons from History: Folk Wisdom of the Negro Spirituals
Many scholars have been clear that to understand the music of African Americans one must do so in tandem with the community that created this music and within its historic context, as well. It has also been argued that African American history is American history. This presentation will examine the music of the Negro Spirituals, the wisdom contained therein, as well as the historic context of slavery that birthed this music.
Day 2 Concurrent Session - Equipping and Empowering Leaders of Color in Accessing Philanthropic Dollars

This session will showcase several different models for participatory grantmaking. Each panelist will share about their model, approach and what contributed to their choice, how they gained institutional support, and lessons learned from the actual grantmaking process.
