Join us for a panel discussion with local leaders about how giving circles of color have responded to the current crises and how their giving circle models can intersect with traditional philanthropy. How can the community-centered lenses of BIPOC-led/BIPOC-serving giving circles inform, or transform, traditional grantmaking? Non-members are welcome to attend this session.
America has reached a fever pitch and many are hurt, tired, and trying to find a way forward. What we are seeing unfold is the culmination of centuries of traumatic white supremacy over the lives of Black people in this country. What will it take for America to finally and truly address its original sin, racism? What is philanthropy being called to do at this time? What can philanthropy do to dismantle white supremacy and advance social justice?
This meeting will be an open share to touch base and hear updates from our colleagues about the work they have been doing around COVID-19 and racial justice.
